Audio, Video and Podcast Transcriber (Whisper Large v3)
This Actor turns audio files, video files and podcast episodes into a full transcript, timestamped segments and SRT and VTT subtitle files, using Whisper large-v3 on GPUs, with 99 languages and translation to English. It is for podcasters, video editors, researchers and AI teams who need text from recordings.
Main price: $4.00 to $6.00 per 1,000 audio minutes, depending on your Apify plan.
What you can do with it
- Write show notes and searchable archives from podcast episodes.
- Make SRT or VTT subtitles in short two-line captions for videos and courses.
- Transcribe interviews, lectures and calls in any of 99 languages, with timestamps.
- Transcribe the newest episodes of shows you follow on a daily schedule.
What you get
Results come as rows in an Apify dataset, which you can export as JSON, CSV or Excel or read over the API. These are the main fields:
| Field | Example | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
title, podcast | Supercore inflation... | Episode and show |
durationSeconds | 644 | Length of the file |
minutesCharged | 11 | Minutes billed, rounded up per file |
languages | [en] | Detected or chosen language |
text | NPR. Waylon, is that an animatronic bird?... | Full transcript |
segments | [{ start, end, text }] | Timestamped segments |
srtUrl, vttUrl | https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/... | Subtitle file links |
Pricing
This Actor is pay per event. Apify plan tiers set the price: the column for your Apify plan is what you pay, and higher plans pay less per result. Prices are per 1,000 events.
| Event | What is charged | Free | Starter | Scale | Business |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Audio minute | One minute of transcribed audio. Each file is rounded up to the next full minute. Failed or skipped files are not charged. | $6.00 | $5.00 | $4.50 | $4.00 |
Run start fee: $0.05 per 1,000 runs. Charged when the Actor starts running. Number of events charged depends on Actor memory (one event per GB, minimum one event). Prices come from the Apify Store and can change; the Actor's Apify page always shows the current ones. Platform usage is billed through your Apify account.
Run it from code
Create an API token in Apify Console (Settings, API and Integrations) and replace YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN. This call starts a run with a small input and returns the rows when it finishes. Synchronous calls suit small inputs; for big jobs, start a run and read the dataset later.
